Festive Window Scenes Adorn Laurens County Museum Storefront

November 30, 2021

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on the Square in downtown Laurens. There are lots of decorations and they include the beautiful holiday window displays at the Laurens County Museum.

One window display is titled, “Twas the Night Before Christmas”.  The tree is decorated in the style of the 1920’s. The display provides viewers the opportunity to search for objects.  They call it “I Spy in the Museum Window”.  Passersby can stop and search for up to thirty different objects within the scene.  There are lists of objects displayed on the windows and the bench outside.  These objects include vintage baby gloves, Elvis, mice (who are not stirring, as in Clement Moore’s poem) and other vintage items.

Another window display is a stunning wreath that is eight feet in diameter.

In addition to the window displays, the lobby of the museum has been decorated and plans for the New Year’s Eve event are being finalized.

“The response to our inaugural New Year’s Eve event has been so positive, said Teresa Noble, Event Coordinator for the LCMA Magnolia Room. “The museum is looking beautiful all decorated for the holidays, and we look forward to welcoming guests on New Year’s Eve.”
