Fig® Columbia Announces 2015 Social Mission Partner

January 12, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Fig® Columbia, a guide to shopping, dining, arts, and entertainment in Columbia, South Carolina, is thrilled to announce The Nurturing Center as their 2015 social mission partner. Fig®’s social mission partnership awards organizations working to better the community with free advertising in each issue of Fig® for one year, a value of $6,000. The Nurturing Center is a nationally accredited Behavioral Health Center dedicated to treating children and families dealing with issues of abuse and neglect.

Fig® chose the Nurturing Center to honor the late Rhett Wolfe, who was a long time, much loved volunteer at the center. Rhett, a partner at the Wolfe Company, was Fig® Columbia communications manager Anne Wolfe Postic’s father. Throughout 2015, they will support and celebrate the Nurturing Center’s mission, as Wolfe did for many years.

“Once a week, my father would leave his office during lunch to go read to the children at the Nurturing Center. He loved playing with the kids while their parents attended classes or took advantage of other programs. Every Christmas, he would dress as Santa Claus and pay them a visit. They loved my dad and I know he would love that Fig is committed to helping them,” says Postic.

Prior Fig® social mission partners have included St. Lawrence Place, an organization that serves families in crisis. In addition to promoting St. Lawrence Place events and spreading the word about their mission, Fig® hosted a successful fundraiser at Wavering Place Plantation this October to raise money for the organization. Around 100 guests attended and the event raised more than $1,000.

The first issue of Fig® in 2015 that features The Nurturing Center will release on March 12.
