Filing Opens December 28 for Non-Partisan Elections Scheduled for March 2023

There are a number of non-partisan elections to be held on March 7, 2023. Filing for these elections will open on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at noon and remain open until noon on Friday, January 6, 2023.

Below is a list of the non-partisan municipal elections in Laurens County.

City of Laurens:

Those seats to be voted on are Mayor, City Council District 3, City Council District 5, and City Council District 6.  A filing fee of $50 is required and may be paid at the City of Laurens, 126 East Public Square, Laurens, SC.  A receipt will be required at the time of filing.

Commission of Public Works:

The seats to be voted on are District 1 and District 2.   A filing fee of $50 is required and may be paid at the CPW Office, 212 Church St, Laurens, SC.  A receipt will be required at the time of filing.

City of Clinton:

The seats to be voted on are Mayor, City Council District 2, City Council District 4, and City Council District 6.  A filing fee of $50 is required and may be paid at the MS Bailey Municipal Center, 211 North Broad St, Clinton, SC.  A receipt will be required at the time of filing.

Town of Gray Court:

The seats to be voted on are Mayor and two Town Council Seats.  A filing fee of $150. is required for Mayor, and a filing fee of $100. Is required for Town Council and may be paid at the Town of Gray Court Town Hall, 329 W Main St, Gray Court, SC, 29645.  A receipt will be required at the time of filing.

Town of Waterloo:

The seats to be voted on are Mayor and two Town Council Seats.  There is no filing fee.

Filing for the open seats will take place at the Laurens County Registration & Elections office, 105 Bolt Dr, Laurens, SC  29360 (The old Winn Dixie Bldg), and will open from NOON, Wednesday, Dec 28, 2022 at NOON, through Friday, Jan 6, 2023 at NOON.  For additional information concerning candidate filing for office, interested parties may contact the Laurens County Board of Registration and Elections, email [email protected], phone 864-984-4431 or visit SCVOTES.gov.
