Fine Arts Center's Outreach Program Touches Lives of Over 270 Children

November 7, 2013

CAMDEN, SC – November 7, 2013 – Now in its fourth year, the Outreach Committee of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) continues its initiative to bring a world of arts, education and entertainment to all the children of our community.

On Monday, October 21, the FAC Outreach Committee presented the Kooky Spooky Halloween Show, performed by Sarah Dippity for a full audience of more than 270 Head Start students. The FAC’s Outreach Committee presented the production at no cost to the students.

These performances always bring so much joy to these children. It could be the only time in their lives they are exposed to a live production and the delight shown on their faces is obvious, said Jane Peterson, director of marketing for the Fine Arts Center. The FAC Outreach Committee continues to do a wonderful job bringing these events to the local children.

• About the FAC’s Outreach Committee

Thanks to corporate and Individual donations, the Fine Arts Center’s Outreach has brought the arts to over three thousand Kershaw County students, many of whom are at-risk and special needs children. There are plans to not only reach out to students but also to the seniors in the community this year. In December, a musical performance by We Three is planned for the residents of the Sam B. Karesh Facility. Also, more children’s events are planned for March and April of 2014.
