Fireflies partnering with ECHO Tools and Segra to rebuild community field

May 15, 2019

The Columbia Fireflies are partnering with ECHO Tools and Segra to help rehab a City of Columbia youth baseball field. The rehab will take place on May 15-16 at Pinehurst Park in Columbia.

“We are excited to have this opportunity to work with ECHO Tools and Segra to bring some life back to Pinehurst Park,” said Fireflies team President John Katz. “The City of Columbia identified Pinehurst Park for us to help bring some great programs back to the neighborhood, and we are excited to be part of that. We can’t thank our partners at Segra and our friends at ECHO Tools enough for their support of this great field renovation.”

Minor League Baseball partnered with ECHO Tools in November as they became the “Official Outdoor Power Tool of MiLB”. Through this partnership, Minor League Baseball and ECHO Tools awarded grants to ten communities around the country to help rehabilitate youth playing fields in MiLB communities. The Columbia Fireflies are honored to have been one of the recipients for this grant and for the opportunity to work at Pinehurst Park to bring a great asset back to the community.

To add to this grant, the Fireflies have been partnering with Segra for the past three seasons through the K’s for Kids program. For each strikeout Fireflies pitchers record at Segra Park, $10 is collected from the Fireflies and Segra and put toward a fund to rehabilitate a local youth field.

Representatives from ECHO Tools and members of the Columbia Fireflies front office will be at Pinehurst Park on May 15 and 16 working on the renovations.

Tickets for the 2019 season are on sale now. Visit ColumbiaFireflies.com, the Segra Park ticket office or call (803) 726-4487 for more information.
