First Community Bank’s Ted Nissen receives the Independent Banks of South Carolina’s Leadership Award

Today, First Community Bank announced that the Independent Banks of South Carolina (IBSC) selected Ted Nissen as the 2023 recipient of the IBSC Leadership Award. The award is given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding contributions to community education, community and economic development, and volunteerism. Mr. Nissen was selected by his peers to receive this award which was presented at the IBSC’s 59th annual convention.

Mr. Nissen is President of First Community Bank and has served on its Executive Leadership Team since the bank’s founding in 1995. He has led the bank’s commercial and retail line of business to now include twenty two banking offices in four geographic markets. Mr. Nissen serves numerous organizations including the Lexington Medical Center Foundation as the current Chairman. He is on the Loan Committee of the Business Development Corporation. He is a past board member of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, South Carolina Bankers Association, Engenuity SC, Midlands Technical College Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Midlands, and Harvest Hope Food Bank. He is a graduate of Leadership Columbia.
