First United Methodist Church Expands Food Bank Hours to Meet Community Needs

January 15, 2025

First United Methodist Church in Laurens is extending the hours of its Food Bank to better serve the community during the winter months. In addition to its regular hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 2:00 p.m., the church will open the Food Bank one Thursday evening per month from January through March.

Recognizing the increased challenges many families face during the colder months, including higher utility bills and the cost of groceries, the church hopes the evening hours will provide greater access for those unable to visit during the day.

“We are blessed by the many volunteers and donors who help us fight hunger in Laurens County,” Rev. Gray Stallworth shared.

The Food Bank will be open on the following Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.:

  • January 23
  • February 20
  • March 20

The Food Bank is located at 244 W. Main Street, Laurens, SC. For more information or to learn how to support this initiative, community members are encouraged to reach out to First United Methodist Church.

By expanding its services, First United Methodist Church continues to make a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger in Laurens County.
