First United Methodist Church in Laurens Seeks Community Support for Food Bank Amid Rising Demand

June 2, 2024

The First United Methodist Church in Laurens is calling on civic groups, other churches, and individuals to help support their food bank as it faces an unprecedented surge in demand this year. The church reports that the number of households served through April 2024 has already exceeded 60% of the total served in all of 2023.

The increase in demand for assistance can be seen in the numbers as shared on their Facebook page.

There are several ways to assist this vital ministry. First and foremost, the church requests prayers for God’s provision. Additionally, they are encouraging local clubs, organizations, and churches to conduct food drives. “We can provide you with a list of items we stock,” they said in a social media post.
