Frampton Construction signs contract with Agracel for first U.S. plant for MAIREC

CHARLESTON, SC – Frampton Construction Company, LLC, a regional full-service construction firm providing planning and design support, preconstruction, construction services, and sustainability services throughout the Carolinas, recently secured a contract from industrial developer, Agracel, Inc., for a 50,000 square foot renovation and new construction project for MAIREC Precious Metals Recycling. This will be MAIREC’s first U.S. plant and will be located in Spartanburg, S.C.

Located in Alzenau, Germany, MAIREC safeguards the recovery of precious metals from recycled goods which contain them, freeing up urgently needed raw materials such as gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium for production processes. This process fulfills material requirements for the next generation of computer processors, mobile telephones and catalytic converters for cars and assures raw material deposits for following generations.

MAIREC joins a roster of more than 500 recycling companies that now call South Carolina home, according to a statement from the S.C. Department of Commerce. “This announcement is a big win for both our recycling industry and the local Spartanburg community, and we all look forward to watching MAIREC thrive there for many years to come,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt commented.
