Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation announces “Bunnelle Days of Service” across Georgetown County

The Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation has announced its upcoming Bunnelle Days of Service, scheduled for October 20–24, 2026. The week-long initiative aims to bring together residents, local businesses, schools, churches, civic groups, and non-profit partners for home and community improvement projects throughout Georgetown County.
Inspired by ongoing Community Conversations addressing local housing and neighborhood challenges, the foundation is calling on volunteers of all skill levels to lend a hand. Projects will focus on home repair, building accessibility ramps, painting, landscaping, and supporting local non-profit facilities. 
“You don’t have to be a contractor or have special skills. And you don’t have to consider yourself an “experienced volunteer.” There is a place for everyone,” explained Bunnelle Executive Director Ashley Nelson.
Nelson encourages people to bring their coworkers, church members, civic groups, friends and family to help support the multitude of projects. “Whether you can paint, landscape, repair, organize, or simply show up ready to help, we can use you,” Nelson added.
To conclude the week, a community celebration will take place at East Bay Park on Saturday, October 24, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, honoring the collective efforts of local volunteers and community partners. The foundation’s Youth Board will be hosting a Trunk or Treat, and encourages children to come out, in costume or not, to join in the fun.
