Free Weather Radios Available for Laurens County Residents – While Supplies Last

June 11, 2025

Thanks to a recent grant secured by Laurens County Emergency Management, free NOAA Weather Radios are now available to Laurens County residents — while supplies last.

These radios are a vital tool for receiving real-time alerts about severe weather and other emergencies, including tornadoes, thunderstorms, and hazardous conditions. Designed to operate even when internet or cell service is down, the weather radios provide 24/7 emergency information that could be life-saving in critical situations.

The weather radios can be picked up at:

Laurens County Emergency Services Complex
321 S Harper Street, Laurens, SC 29360

To receive a free radio, residents must bring proof of Laurens County residency, such as a driver’s license or a recent utility bill or piece of mail.

“These radios are part of our ongoing commitment to public safety and preparedness,” said Sonny Ledda, Director of Laurens County Emergency Management. “We’re grateful for the grant funding that made this distribution possible and encourage all residents to take advantage of this opportunity.”

This initiative is free of charge and open to Laurens County residents only, with radios available on a first-come, first-served basis.
