Freedom Fest Returns to Downtown Laurens with Music, Family Fun, and Fireworks

Downtown Laurens will come alive this Thursday evening, July 3rd, as Freedom Fest returns as the county’s largest Fourth of July celebration. From 5:00 to 10:00 PM, the historic square will transform into a high-energy, family-friendly festival featuring live music, food trucks, interactive games, festive drinks, and a dazzling fireworks finale.

Organizers promise this year’s event will be “bigger and brighter than ever,” offering a packed lineup of entertainment, street performers, and local flavor for residents and visitors of all ages.

Entertainment kicks off at 5:00 PM with AJ the DJ setting the tone for the evening. A special Veterans Tribute at 5:15 PM will feature Davidson Brass on the City Hall Stage, honoring those who’ve served.

A full lineup of live music follows:

  • 6:15 PMFreddie McClendon & Band, a rising Americana/Country artist and Greenwood native

  • 7:15 PMHavana Daydreamers, a fan-favorite Jimmy Buffett tribute band

  • 8:30 PMSteel Toe Stiletto, the Upstate’s premier party band, takes the main stage as headliner

  • 10:00 PMFireworks Grand Finale, viewable from the Square and surrounding streets

Festival-goers can enjoy stilt walkers, balloon animals, and street performers, plus free interactive games and family fun presented by Big Air Laurens. Downtown restaurants and retailers will stay open late, and a variety of food trucks and festive drink vendors will be set up around the Square. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and settle in for an evening of celebration.

A newly enhanced main stage setup will feature upgraded lights and sound, adding to the festive atmosphere.
