Freeway Music School and Doko Station Pub & Eatery coming soon to Blythewood

November 6, 2019

Hill Construction Company started the renovation of the train depot building in Doko Park in Blythewood this month. The unique space will be home to Freeway Music School, the Midlands premier music lesson’s studio, and the all new Doko Station Pub & Eatery.

In this exciting build-out project, the music school and restaurant are creating a complex that emphasizes great food, entertainment, education, and community involvement. Freeway Music will occupy a larger portion of the space, with 14 custom built rooms for private music lessons and rock band classes, including a brand new rehearsal space that includes a recording studio element.

“Every detail of Freeway Music’s lesson facility, from high-end sound dampening insulation, to layout, floors and fixtures have been chosen with the student’s experience in mind,” said owners Don and Sara Ann Russo. “We are overwhelmingly excited about this new location. It takes our motto “More Than A Music School” to an entirely new level,” said the couple.

Doko Station Pub & Eatery will feature an eclectic food menu with freshly made appetizers, wraps, paninis, pizzas, soups & salads. The relaxed atmosphere of this retro train station pub will include occasional acoustic performances by local musicians and outdoor dining options.

“This has been a dream of ours for several years, and it has finally come to fruition,” said Lexington’s Old Mill Brewpub owners John & Kelly Clinger. “We are keeping it close to home, with locally roasted & freshly ground coffee, local craft beer on draft, other favorites by the can, as well as regional & imported wines along with a delicious food menu,” they continued.
