Furman University Recognized as a Great Place to Work by Chronicle of Higher Education

July 21, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – The Chronicle of Higher Education has once again designated Furman University as a great place to work.

Furman was one of 92 colleges that were recognized in the Chronicle’s seventh annual “Great Colleges to Work For” survey.  The university was listed in the small school enrollment category, which features institutions with 2,999 or fewer students.

Furman also received special mention for excelling in the category of “Facilities, Workspace and Security.”

The 2014 “Great Colleges to Work For” survey was administered and compiled by ModernThink LLC for The Chronicle. This year, more than 43,500 faculty and staff members were surveyed at institutions across the country.

Results were reported for small, medium and large institutions. The assessment had two components: a questionnaire about institutional characteristics and a faculty/staff questionnaire about individuals’ evaluations of their institutions. The assessment also included an analysis of demographic data and workplace policies, including benefits, at each participating college.
