FuruSato Bento opens in Five Points

Kazuhiro Sato, owner of FuruSato Bento, Mayor Daniel Rickenmann and Five Points Association representatives attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for FuruSato Bento on April 26 at 1:30 p.m.

The Japanese restaurant offers pre-packaged meals with different flavors and meats, sushi, ice cream, several Japanese snacks and much more. The FuruSato Bento location has been open for 2 months and the ribbon cutting ceremony was their soft opening.

General Manager of FuruSato Bento Taishi Sato stated that, “My family tries to bring a little bit of Japan to Columbia, South Carolina we’ve open a sushi bar, a ramen place in both downtown and in Sandhill’s and now we are bringing a Japanese bento to Columbia, South Carolina.

Mayor Daniel Rickenmann represented the City of Columbia at the ribbon cutting ceremony, expressing his excitement for the grand opening of FuruSato Bento.

Mayor Rickenmann stated that, “This is wonderful, we have a new location just opened up, and we have  Japanese culture being immersed in our community. We are open! We are open for business, innovation, ideas, relationships and this is just another one.” Everything that Chef Sato does, we love it.”

The city is pleased to welcome FuruSato Bento to Five Points.

FuruSato Bento is located at 748 Harden Street in Five Points they are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
