Gaffney honored as 2013 South Carolina Super Lawyer

COLUMBIA, SC – April 24, 2013  – Amy L. Gaffney, one of the founders of Gaffney Lewis & Edwards, has been designated a 2013 South Carolina Super Lawyer for her work in the practice area of Employment and Labor Law.

Super Lawyers is a nationally recognized rating service of outstanding attorneys across more than 70 practice areas. The annual Super Lawyers Magazine, which will be published in May, reaches more than 13 million readers. A separate Super Lawyers edition of Columbia Living magazine targets more than 100,000 readers in the Palmetto State.

To earn Super Lawyer status, Gaffney was subjected to an evaluation and peer review that assessed her based on 12 indicators of peer opinion and professional achievement. Super Lawyers staff also conducts independent research of each candidate.

In addition to employment law, Gaffney’s practice areas include general litigation, tort litigation, internal investigations and mediation.

Gaffney is a graduate of Queens University of Charlotte and the University of South Carolina School of Law. After practicing with other law firms, she joined with Regina Hollins Lewis and Susan Edwards to form the firm in 2007.

She heads the firm’s Isle of Palms office, which serves South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
