Gallivan, White & Boyd, P.A. Continues Expansion

GREENVILLE, SC – April 26, 2012 – The law firm of Gallivan, White & Boyd, P.A. announced that four attorneys have joined the firm’s offices in Columbia and Greenville, S.C. and Charlotte, N.C.

Batten Farrar, a 2011 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, has joined the Greenville office as a member of the firm’s Design and Construction team.  Farrar’s practice focuses on the representation of architectural and engineering firms, contractors, subcontractors, design/builders, bonding companies, and suppliers in construction related disputes.

Grayson Smith has joined the firm’s Columbia office, where his practice focuses on insurance and business and commercial disputes.  Prior to joining GWB, Smith served as an Assistant Public Defender for the 12th Judicial Circuit and is a former judicial law clerk for the Honorable Thomas A. Russo. Smith earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Janice Holmes joined the Columbia office as a member of the firm’s Business and Commercial practice group.  Her practice focuses on the representation of corporate and individual clients in contractual disputes, business torts, shareholder disputes, and complex litigation arising out of business transactions.  Holmes earned her law degree from the Creighton University School of Law, where she was the Executive Editor of The Creighton Law Review.

Amber A. Dorrell has joined the firm’s Charlotte office, where she is a member of GWB’s workers’ compensation team.  Her practice is focused exclusively on the defense of workers’ compensation claims on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, self-insured corporations, third-party administrators, and claim servicing agencies.  Dorrell earned her legal degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

The addition of these new attorneys continues Gallivan, White & Boyd’s recent expansion.  In March 2011, GWB opened its office in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Three months later, the firm opened an office in Columbia, South Carolina.  South Carolina Lawyers Weekly has announced that GWB topped the growth charts in 2011 among South Carolina’s largest law firms.  C.
