Game On – Axe Craft Depot Opens in Clinton

Owners Jered and Melissa Meadors have had setbacks, but their hard work has paid off.

The Axe Craft brings something new and exciting to bring to the entertainment options in Clinton.

What started as a knock around idea is now open for business. The Axe Craft Depot is located at 223 W. Main Street in Clinton. Operating hours are Friday (4-10), Saturday (2-10), and Sunday (2-9) but hours are subject to change. Axe Craft Depot is the first entertainment venue that Clinton has had in a while.

The owners are looking forward to welcoming everyone and providing a venue for family fun, date night, and group events.

“Axe throwing is fun and takes some level of technique, but anyone can do it,” said Jered Meadors.

The layout of the Axe Craft Depot lends itself to being a place to “go throw” and then hang out a while.  They will also host private events (birthday parties, showers, family events) and community events.

The depot has 6 lanes and 2 of them will be league play certified. All lanes are open to the public during operating hours. People can call and schedule a time or use the website to do that. Walk-ins are always welcome.  Reserving a lane is for a one-hour time slot and the cost is $20 per person.  The review of safety rules, technique and coaching is completed before the hour starts.  The Depot will also have coaches observing and available to assist as needed during a session. For safety reasons, closed toe shoes are required to enter the building.

If interest grows, they plan on creating tournaments and league play. They will have light refreshments available for purchase and will be bringing in food trucks to vary the options. Beer in crafted cans of artwork from breweries only from South Carolina will also be available in the near future.

Adults and youth age 8 and above will be able to participate.  Children will need to have parental or adult supervision with a signed release form.  Foam axes and targets will also be set up so even the really young kids can have fun.
