Garvin Design Group welcomes back three staff members

August 12, 2020

Garvin Design Group recently welcomed three architectural staff members back to the firm this summer. Nicole Coker and Morgan Clark graduated from Clemson University’s School of Architecture in May and rejoin the firm as architectural interns. Zach Whiteman was previously a full-time member of Garvin Design Group’s architectural staff and returns in that role following completion of his Masters in Architecture at UC Berkeley.

A native of St. Matthews, Nicole Coker will return to Clemson University to complete her Masters in Architecture in fall 2021. She is a member of Clemson’s prestigious IPAL program, which enables current Architecture students to accelerate the licensure process by gaining internship experience while still in school.

During his time at Clemson, Morgan Clark served as an ambassador for the College of Architecture and the on-campus head of design for CUhackit, an organization that designs marathon creation competitions. He plans to extend his internship with Garvin Design Group through next year.

Zach Whiteman returns to the firm and to Columbia after successful completion of his rigorous graduate studies. While at UC Berkeley, Zach focused on high-performance design for achieving net-zero energy and net-zero carbon emissions, and worked as a graduate student instructor for construction courses.

“We have been blessed to have so many former teammates return to the firm in the past few months,” said Scott Garvin, Garvin Design Group’s President. “It’s always hard to say goodbye to valued members of our team, so welcoming them back is doubly joyful. We’re so glad to get to be part of their professional growth at different stages in their careers.”
