Garvin Design Group welcomes two summer interns

May 14, 2019

Garvin Design Group announced the arrival of two summer interns for 2019: Nicole Coker and Morgan Clark, both rising seniors at Clemson University.

Nicole Coker and Morgan Clark

Nicole Coker grew up in St. Matthews and plans to continue on to complete her Masters in Architecture at Clemson post-graduation. Nicole is part of Clemson’s IPAL program, which enables current Architecture students to accelerate the licensure process by gaining experience in internships while still in school. Nicole is actively engaged in the local community beyond her rigorous scholastic pursuits. She helped design and build a Community Garden Pavilion at a local children’s park through Clemson Charleston’s Design/Build Program, and she holds the title of USA National Miss Yellow Jasmine State 2019. Nicole will compete for a national title in July.

Morgan Clark returns to his hometown of Columbia this summer. He will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a minor in Digital Production Arts next spring. At Clemson, Morgan serves as the on-campus head of CUhackit, an organization that designs marathon creative competitions, and as an ambassador for the College of Architecture. He recently returned from a semester abroad in Genoa, Italy, where he gained an understanding of different approaches to architectural design beyond the American contemporary perspective. Morgan is particularly interested in Architecture as a tool to create new spatial and cultural conditions for the public.
