George Bailey to speak at CREW Midlands Lunch Program about the impact of the Boyd Foundation

George Bailey, President of the Boyd Foundation, will be the featured speaker at the CREW Midlands Lunch Program on April 1st, where he will share insights about the foundation’s significant impact on the Midlands community.
The Boyd Foundation, formally known as the Darnall W. and Susan F. Boyd Foundation, was established in 2010 with a mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals living, working, and enjoying recreational activities in the Midlands. The foundation focuses on key areas such as outdoor enhancement, educational initiatives, and the preservation of local history, all aimed at inspiring young people to remain and thrive in Columbia.
With a distinguished career in law, George Bailey serves as “in counsel” with Sojourner Caughman and Thomas after a successful tenure as a partner at Nelson, Mullins Riley and Scarborough for 32 years. A Columbia native, George is deeply committed to the community he grew up in. He graduated from AC Flora before earning his undergraduate degree from Wofford College. George furthered his education with a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and an LLM in taxation law from NYU.
Under George Bailey’s leadership, the foundation has become a beacon of hope and support for various community initiatives in the Midlands. The Boyd Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents through educational programs, grants, and community service projects.
