June 11, 2026

Georgetown County Parks & Recreation is excited to announce that registration is officially open for the highly anticipated 2026 youth Flag Football and Cheerleading fall season. Parents and guardians are encouraged to sign up their young athletes early, as spots are limited. This season’s programs are designed to help local youth learn valuable skills, build lasting friendships, stay active, and experience the fundamentals of teamwork in a fun, supportive environment.

Registration for the upcoming season is open through July 25, 2026, with player evaluations and team selections scheduled to take place the following week of July 27. Families can enroll their children in Flag Football, open to ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 12, for a registration fee of $40 per player. Cheerleading is also available for the same age groups at $50 per participant, a fee that conveniently includes a custom cheer uniform.

How to Register
Georgetown County offers four convenient ways to secure your child’s spot:

Online: Visit the official portal at GTCParks.org.

Mobile: Scan the QR code featured on the seasonal event flyers.

Phone: Call any regional Georgetown County recreation center.

In Person: Stop by any regional recreation center to register with staff.

Looking Ahead: 2026 Tackle Football Season
Georgetown County Parks & Recreation is also pleased to share a preview of the upcoming Tackle Football season. To provide a comprehensive developmental pathway for young athletes, registration for Tackle Football will officially open in July, with the season scheduled to begin immediately following the conclusion of the flag football season.

This staggered schedule is intentionally designed to allow interested athletes the unique opportunity to participate in both programs. Furthermore, this timeline supports our vital community partnership with the local school district, ensuring seamless coordination for gameday facility use and coaching assistance. Whether your child is just starting out in flag football or preparing for the next level in tackle, a place is ready for them to play.
