Georgetown VFW Post 6444 to host “Stars, Stripes, and Saving Lives” blood drive on July 28

June 16, 2026

GEORGETOWN, SC — In a critical effort to support local patients and maintain a stable regional blood supply, Georgetown VFW Post 6444 has partnered with the American Red Cross to host the “Stars, Stripes, and Saving Lives” community blood drive. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the VFW Post headquarters located at 711 Church Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.

The blood drive will take place in the VFW Post 6444 Social Hall meeting room, which is easily accessible around the back of the main building. With the summer months often presenting a challenging time for blood collections, organizers are calling on residents, veterans, and local supporters to roll up their sleeves. Because a single blood donation can save up to three lives, community participation is vital to meeting the constant need for blood and blood products in regional hospitals.

Both first-time and seasoned donors are welcome, though everyone is highly encouraged to schedule a donation timeslot in advance to ensure a smooth and efficient process. To register for an appointment, please visit the official American Red Cross website or contact the VFW Post 6444 coordination team directly at 843-546-0529 or via email at [email protected].
