Get Your “First Look” at the New Laurens County Museum

November 11, 2020

The Laurens County Museum Board of Directors along with Laura Clifford Cook, the project manager for the museum are hosting a “First Look” at the renovations completed to the Witherspoon Building on the Historic Laurens County Courthouse Square on Sunday, November 15th from Noon to 5:00 pm.

The “open house” celebrates the completion of the second floor Magnolia Room, Burns Theatre, lobby, and front display areas. Two new window displays will also be revealed at the event.

A full opening of the museum in the new space is projected for late summer 2021. For now, the Witherspoon Building will be used for museum lectures, programs, meetings, and as a Welcome Center for Laurens County.  The Magnolia Room is available to rent for private events and has already been the location of choice for several wedding receptions.

The event is free and open to the public. There will be live piano music and refreshments. CDC health and safety precautions will be followed.

The pictures included were taken during the renovations.  Come get your “first look” at the newly renovated space.  You won’t be disappointed!
