Gilbert High Names Corley Head Varsity Softball Coach

LEXINGTON, SC — Gilbert High announces the selection of Edward “Eddie” R. Corley as head coach for varsity softball.

He replaces Reuben Eargle who retires at the end of the year after coaching the GHS softball team for 24 seasons.

Corley, who currently serves as assistant varsity softball coach and an assistant varsity football coach at GHS, has more than 20 years of coaching experience in basketball, football and softball.

A physical education teacher at Gilbert Primary, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in physical education from Newberry College and a Master of Science in sports administration and recreation from Western Kentucky University.

He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association, Coaches Association of Women’s Sports and the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association.
