GREENVILLE, SC – February 3, 2014 – Global Location Strategies (GLS), the rapidly-growing South Carolina-based site selection and economic development firm, has named veteran site selection consultant Woody Hydrick as Senior Principal on its rapidly expanding team.  He will be based out of GLS headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina.

Mr. Hydrick joined GLS in 2013 from his most recent position as Managing Director of Cushman and Wakefield Global Business Consulting, a division of the world’s largest privately-held commercial real estate services firm.  He has also previously served as a Senior Consultant for Fluor Corporation.

During his career, Mr. Hydrick has directed site searches for corporate clients across North and South America, Europe and Asia.  His expertise includes assignments primarily in the manufacturing, distribution/logistics and headquarters arenas, with those projects representing billions of dollars in capital investment and thousands of announced jobs.  Mr. Hydrick also has extensive experience in incentives negotiations and economic development consulting, and has particularly deep expertise in life science assignments.  He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Athens (AL) State University.

In his new role, he will focus on site selection project direction, client service management, location intelligence, and strategic planning.

Woody’s strong analytical skills, business acumen, industry relationships and client service ethic are essential to our organizational growth and success, and we are pleased to acknowledge his contributions by naming him Senior Principal on the Global Location Strategies team, said Didi Caldwell, GLS co-founder and Senior Principal.

With skills honed from decades of leadership in the worldwide location services division of a major construction and engineering firm, followed by successful individual consultancies serving clients around the globe, GLS provides comprehensive site selection, incentive negotiation, real estate, and economic development consulting services to clients – along with the ability to tap the additional talents of world-class engineers, technical experts and project developers to benefit their clients.
