GMK Associates, Inc., announced that NCIDQ-certified interior designer Heather Ling has joined the firm to serve as the director of the interior design division and that Lisa Ann Scott has joined the team as a senior interior designer.
“With the significant changes and challenges of the past two years during the pandemic, GMK is looking forward to re-establishing and growing our existing relationships in the senior living sector, while also expanding further into the hospitality markets with Heather and Lisa Ann now part of our already robust interior design team,” said Jeff Baker, GMK’s board chairman and president. “The future direction of our interiors group, and GMK as a whole, is exceptionally bright with new opportunities to serve our clients with the full array of integrated and tailored A/E, interior design, and construction-related services.”
As the new director, Ms. Ling will be responsible for the strategic vision for the division and the day-to-day oversight of the division’s interior design teams and project commissions. She is a dynamic design team leader with a high level of expertise in all phases of project interior design, management, and execution. Over her 14-year career in the interior design industry (with a primary focus on the national and international hospitality and high-end residential design markets), Ms. Ling has proven skills in developing progressive and unique design concepts, effectively coordinating collaborative design teams, managing critical project schedules and budgets, and maintaining strong client relationships through project completion.
Ms. Scott’s role as a senior interior designer includes supporting strategic marketing efforts for the division, streamlining and enhancing the division’s operational processes, and leading individual complex project assignments, in addition to providing mentorship for junior members of GMK’s collaborative design teams. She is an energetic, team-oriented, senior-level interior design professional with over 8 years of broad-based experience in developing cohesive interior design – from initial design concepts, through finish selections and architectural details, to FF&E procurement and installation. Drawing from her previous experience in hospitality, high-end residential, multi-family, and senior living design, Ms. Scott excels at developing spatial adjacencies for interior environments and designing furnishing packages that align with each projects’ overall design aesthetic and brand story.
