WYFF 4 Anchor Nigel Robertson Will Emcee Event

Governor Nikki Haley, First Gentleman Michael Haley and the First Family will kick off the holiday season at the 50th Annual Governor’s Carolighting, held on the north steps of the South Carolina Statehouse, on Thursday, December 1. Family festivities will begin at 6:00 PM and the program will begin at 7:00 PM. The event is open to the public.

“Each year, Michael, Rena, Nalin and I look forward to this special night when we can invite family and friends from every part of South Carolina to celebrate the holiday season and enjoy our beautiful Statehouse,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.

This year’s Carolighting is sponsored by the Columbia Metropolitan Convention and Visitor Bureau, the Columbia Garden Club and the Garden Club of South Carolina.

WYFF 4 (NBC/Greenville) anchor Nigel Robertson will serve as the evening’s emcee.

The state Christmas tree is a 35-foot-tall sheared Concolor Fir and comes from Pinetum Christmas Tree Farm in Swanton, Maryland.

As the holiday season approaches, the Haley family encourages those interested in helping South Carolinians impacted by Hurricane Matthew and the 2015 flood to do so by making a donation to the One SC Fund. One hundred percent of the donations will go directly to assisting South Carolinians:
