Governor Haley Proclaims February 8 Through 14 Rotary Has Heart Week

February 13, 2015

Local Rotary Clubs Engage With Harvest Hope for Giving Projects

Governor Nikki R. Haley has proclaimed the week of February 8 through February 14 as Rotary Has Heart Week in recognition of the many service and charitable projects South Carolina Rotary Clubs are engaged with in our communities.

Harvest Hope also celebrates Rotary Has Heart and the Governor Haley’s proclamation, and are so very thankful for the humanitarian efforts of all Rotary Clubs participating to help fight hunger.

For example, on Tuesday, February 17 the Columbia East Rotary Club will have volunteers at Harvest Hope Food Bank’s facility at 2220 Shop Road from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. Members of the media are encouraged to visit and speak with Rotarians and learn about the many projects they undertake to help the community.

Additionally, The Columbia Capital Rotary Club will pack hunger relief boxes on Wednesday, February 25 from 7:30 until 8:30 am, and will also present a $1,000 donation from their Club to Harvest Hope.

Other Rotary Clubs have volunteer activities planned with Harvest Hope in February and details on those activities will be announced.

To show that Rotary Has Heart, Rotary Clubs throughout our communities are encouraged to contact Harvest Hope to find beneficial projects tailored to the Rotarian mission that will help bring meals to struggling families, seniors and children.
