Governor Henry McMaster appoints Robin Price to the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind Board of Commissioners

Governor Henry McMaster has appointed Robin Holden Price of Columbia to the Board of Commissioners of the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind (SCSDB) where she will represent Congressional District 2.

“We welcome Robin to the board,” said Scott Brawley, chairman of the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind Board of Commissioners. “Her extensive experience in children’s causes coupled with her knowledge of public administration will be a valuable addition to the board.”

The senior training specialist at Dominion Energy,  Price holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of South Carolina. Her current and past board memberships include: Beginnings SC; Camp Kemo Advisory Council of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital where she served as board chair from 2020-2021; chairman of the DiverseAbility Employee Resource Group at Dominion Energy South Carolina; family liaison for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation Ride for Kids – Midlands Ride; president of the SC Chapter of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing; and Leadership Board for The Sandbox in Charlotte, NC.

Price and her husband, Scott, and her children, Anna and Jay, live in Columbia and are members of First Presbyterian Church. She is originally from Marion, SC.

“Both of my children have received services from SCSDB, so I understand how important their work is to the families of deaf and blind students in our state,” said Price. “I am excited to join the Board of Commissioners.”

The SC School for the Deaf and the Blind is the state’s specialized school for students who are deaf or blind. It offers pre K-12 educational programs on its main campus in Spartanburg and specialized vision and hearing services in school districts and homes throughout the state.
