Great Crepes & More Opens to Supportive Crowd

August 23, 2023

Downtown Laurens experienced a culinary delight this past weekend with the opening of Great Crepes & More (GC&M) in the space that is also known as Palmetto Brothers Dispensary. The grand opening was started on Friday, August 18th and continued Saturday morning and Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm.

The reaction?

Laurens County residents are definitely interested in trying new things. Great Crepes & More experienced a steady flow of customers all three days.

“We couldn’t be happier with the turnout this weekend. There were times especially on Saturday when we just couldn’t keep up,” said co-owner Kaleefa Neely. “This caused an extended wait time for some customers. However, all our customers were very kind and understanding.”

Patience is always appreciated and especially when a restaurant first opens. GC&M prepares all of their crêpes (except the gluten-free) right in front of the customer, so they can see the preparation and that the cooks are working as fast as they can.

Speaking of gluten, GC&M does offer a gluten free crepe option and they understand the need to prevent cross-contamination. Gluten free crepes are made in the back on a dedicated crepe maker.

At the end of the weekend the tally revealed that they were indeed busy, selling over 300 crêpes along with many waffles on a stick, bowls, and salads.  The customer base was local but that didn’t stop some visitors from Greenville, Simpsonville, and Columbia from enjoying the offerings.

According to the Neely’s, the menu will continue to evolve so keep checking for updates and new crêpe flavors! Click HERE to view the menu.
