Greater Lexington Chamber launches radio show

September 17, 2012

LEXINGTON, SC – September 17, 2012 – “Tower Talk Live,” a weekly radio show about the Greater Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center, debuts this week on WLXM 107.9 FM. Hosted by Emily Russell, the Chamber’s branding and media manager, “Tower Talk Live” will broadcast live each Thursday at 11:30 a.m.

“We’re one of the few chambers in South Carolina and possibly the only Chamber that will have its own radio program,” said Randy Halfacre, the GLC&VC’s president/CEO. “This gives us another way to communicate the great things we’ve got going on, which in turn helps us build our prosperity and quality of life.”

The half-hour show will present Chamber news, events, and interviews with members. The first guest is Mandy Summers, the Chamber’s 2012 Small Business Person of the Year. Summers is the owner of M. Gallery Interiors.     “I’m excited about getting to know Chamber members and learning more about their businesses,” Russell said. “Our membership is so diverse, and ‘Tower Talk Live’ will help us promote their hard work.”

“Tower Talk Live” takes its name from the Chamber’s new building on West Main Street. “Our building’s unique design includes a tower that identifies the Visitors Center,” Halfacre explained. “That tower makes us the ‘beacon for business’ as well. With this radio show, we can reach out even more.”
