Greater Lexington Chamber releases dance video

October 12, 2012

LEXINGTON, SC – October 12, 2012 – A dance video featuring 70 Greater Lexington Chamber businesses has been getting plenty of attention since it debuted in September. Titled “Let’s Live it Up,” the video shows about 275 people dancing to “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. It was created to kick off the Chamber’s 2012 total resource campaign to draw more members and sponsorships.

“We wanted to get people excited about our campaign,” said Account Executive Haylee Anderson, who produced the video and asked members to participate. “A lot of people were hesitant at first, but then they got in the spirit.”

That spirit is evident in the variety of dance moves and good-sport humor participants exhibit in the video. In less than 24 hours, it had gotten more than 230 views between the Chamber’s website and You Tube. It currently has close to 800 views.

As well as being the title for the video, “Let’s Live It Up” is the theme for the “TRC,” as member/sponsor campaigns are known in Chamber of Commerce language. One of the campaign goals is to get 120 new members, which will put the Chamber’s membership over 1,000. The campaign continues through Oct. 31.

“Today’s social media focus lends itself to creative strategies like this video,” said Randy Halfacre, the Chamber’s president and CEO. Halfacre also participated in the production. “It’s just another example of how we can help our members promote their businesses,” he added, “and we all had fun doing it.”
