Greater Mauldin Chamber to host ribbon cutting & business after hours for local non-profit “Just Say Something”

August 3, 2026

Community members, local business leaders, and advocates for family wellness will gather this week to celebrate the ongoing mission and impact of Just Say Something, a premier local non-profit dedicated to substance abuse prevention, youth empowerment, and family strengthening across the Upstate.

The Greater Mauldin Chamber of Commerce will host an official Ribbon Cutting & Business After Hours event on Thursday, August 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Forty Years of Empowering Upstate Families

Founded in 1984, Just Say Something has spent over four decades helping youth, parents, and community leaders navigate difficult conversations surrounding tobacco, alcohol, vaping, and drugs. Built on the principle that prevention begins with open dialogue, the non-profit provides evidence-based educational programs and support networks aimed at building resilient homes and safe neighborhoods.

The organization delivers a wide range of community-centered services across Greenville and Spartanburg counties, including:

  • Strengthening Families Program (SFP): A nationally recognized, cost-free parenting and youth course proven to reduce at-risk behaviors, enhance social skills, and strengthen parent-child bonds.

  • Youth Impact Sports: Engaging local youth through physical activity, athletic camps, and mentorship while teaching essential life skills and substance prevention.

  • Parenting Enrichment & Support: Approved by local school districts, family courts, and community agencies, offering practical tools like the Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) and Circle of Parents groups to help caregivers build nurturing home environments.

Connect, Celebrate, and Network

Thursday’s gathering offers local professionals, business owners, and residents a chance to meet the Just Say Something staff and leadership team, learn about ongoing volunteer and partnership opportunities, and explore how the organization’s resources can benefit local workplaces and schools.

The ribbon cutting formally highlights the non-profit’s deepening ties with the Mauldin business community as it continues to expand outreach programs throughout the Golden Strip corridor.
