Greenlink Expands Bike Locker Program

March 16, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – Greenlink has expanded its bike locker program, with four new BikeLids recently installed along Richardson Street outside the Greenlink Transit Center, and more to be placed throughout the Greenville area.

The bike locker program is part of Greenlink’s commitment to creating a multimodal transportation system that improves transit access for those who bike and walk, according to Greenlink Transit Director Mark Rickards.

“The first and last mile connection to transit is critical,” Rickards said. “Bicycle racks on buses, the bike share station outside the Greenlink Transit Center, and our bike parking and storage program all are ways that we are working to improve connections to public transportation in the Greenville area.”

Each BikeLid can accommodate up to two bicycles and is equipped with an individually keyed lock, giving access to the renter alone.

Greenlink provides fixed route transportation services Monday through Saturday throughout Greenville County. The system operates the Clemson Commuter, Clemson Connector and CU-ICAR/St. Francis Shuttle, and owns and operates Greenville’s downtown trolleys. The Greenlink system also includes Greenville Area Paratransit (GAP), an ADA service for those unable to use Greenlink’s fixed route service. For more information, visit www.RideGreenlink.com.
