Greenville Arena District President and General Manager honored with award nomination

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Arena District is pleased to announce that Roger Newton, President and General Manager of the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, has been nominated for the International Entertainment Buyers Association’s 2014 Venue Executive of the Year Award.

The International Entertainment Buyers Association is the leading non-profit trade organization for live entertainment industry professionals. Founded in 1970, IEBA provides networking opportunities and continuing education to its members to strengthen relationships, foster growth and increase revenue for the live entertainment industry.

Winners of the 2014 Venue Executive of the Year Award will be announced at the IEBA Honors & Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, September 30th at 8pm in the CMA Theatre at The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum.

Roger Newton has been in the facility management industry since he received his Master’s Degree in 1977 from the Ohio University Sports Administration-Facility Management Program. He has served as the manager of numerous arenas, civic centers, theatres, stadiums and convention centers throughout his career including management of the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota, the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami, the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, and Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. He has been with the Greenville Arena District since 2005.
