Greenville Chamber announces 2022 Board, Cal Hurst named Chair-Elect
October 25, 2021The Greenville Chamber’s leadership has elected Cal Hurst as chair-elect of its Board of Directors. He will take over the highest volunteer leadership role for the Greenville Chamber in 2023. Hurst will serve as chair-elect throughout the next year and will be joined by eight new Board members.
Cal Hurst is the Chief Banking Officer at Southern First and currently serves on the Greenville Chamber Board as the Treasurer. He has served on the Board for two years.
Hurst is passionate about creating long-term relationships and positively impacting everyone he connects with. In addition to his work, Cal is an engaged member of the Upstate community and serves as a member of various other Boards of Directors, including United Way and Greenville First Steps. He is currently the Chair of the 2021 United Way of Greenville County Campaign.

Eight local leaders will join the Board of Directors in 2022, representing multiple industries:
- Euleta Alston, US&S President
- Ashley Cuttino, Ogletree Deakins Shareholder
- Stephanie DeFreese, BlueCross Blue Shield of South Carolina Vice President G&I Agency Sales
- Basil Dosunmu, Greenville Spartanburg International Airport Senior Vice President – Administration and Finance (CFO)
- Kevin Hammonds, Fluor Senior Vice President of Law – Americas
- Merle Johnson, City of Greenville Director of Economic and Community Development
- Dr. Larry Miller, Greenville Technical College Vice President of Learning and Workforce Development
- Michelle Seaver, United Community Bank President Greenville, Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties
Max Metcalf, Manager of Government and Community Relations at BMW Manufacturing Company, LLC will serve as Immediate Past Chair. Will Huss, CEO of Trehel Corporation, will chair the Board in 2022.
According to Huss, “It has been an interesting journey for the last two years with all the issues that society has faced, particularly the pandemic and the financial repercussions from that. With that in mind, Cal Hurst has done an amazing job helping direct the Chamber in its financial success and fiscal health during his time as the Treasurer. The Chamber is in a better place because of Cal’s involvement and talents. I look forward to serving with him on a different level, but mainly look to how well he will do as the next Chairman of the Greenville Chamber. The other members of the Board partner with me in welcoming Cal, and the Greenville community will be thrilled to have Cal in this role.”
The Board of Directors is the policy-making body of the Greenville Chamber. Its members represent the business and professional leadership of the community. New members will begin January 2022.
