Greenville Country Club announces hire of Sean McGaughey as Director of Golf

Greenville Country Club, one of the South’s most historic golf clubs, recently announced the hire of Sean McGaughey as Director of Golf. In this role, McGaughey will oversee all aspects of the club’s golf program, as well as the operations of GCC’s two 18-hole, private golf courses.
McGaughey has an impressive resume honing his craft as a PGA Professional at the Golf Digest rated Best Resort in California and Conde’ Nast Top Ten Resort in the USA, CordeValle Golf Club, where he was an instrumental part of three Fry’s.com PGA tour events, one PGA Cup, and the US Senior Women’s Amateur. He then moved to nationally-recognized Atlanta Country Club where he was Head Golf Professional. While at ACC, McGaughey enhanced the member experience through tournaments, clinics, junior golf participation, innovative merchandising, and his implementation of five-star member service, and most recently served as Director of Golf at the premier 36-hole resort in the Florida Panhandle, Camp Creek and Shark’s Tooth Golf Club. While at Camp Creek / Shark’s Tooth he managed 1,100 members, 40 golf staff employees, increased merchandise sales, expanded the teaching facility, and successfully won the bid for the 2021 ACC Championship.

As part of his new position, and in addition to the oversight of the Riverside and Chanticleer courses, McGaughey will oversee an instructional staff of six PGA Professionals, a dedicated junior golf program, as well as future events and programs.
