Greenville healthcare executive Beverly Haines named to GADC Board

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC), the county-chartered organization tasked with promoting and enhancing the economic growth of Greenville County, has announced that noted healthcare executive Beverly J. Haines has been appointed by Greenville County Council to a three-year term on the GADC Board of Directors. Her term begins immediately.

“Ms. Haines brings tremendous experience and leadership skills to this Board, as well as a stellar track record of community involvement,” said Dr. Bob Taylor, Greenville County Council Chairman. “Because good medical care is essential to a community’s quality of life, we are blessed to have her talents focused on the economic development activities and policies that will add good jobs and increase investment in Greenville County.”

Ms. Haines is the President and Chief Nursing Officer of the Patewood Hospital and Medical Campus of the Greenville Health System. A Registered Nurse, she joined the Greenville Health System in October 2006 as Director of Patient Care Services for the Patewood Medical Campus, and was instrumental in the opening of Patewood Memorial Hospital. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Health System in Pittsburgh, PA.

Ms. Haines received a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education with emphasis in Nursing Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Duquesne University. Very active in state and local civic and industry circles, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, the Greenville Free Clinic and Greenville Meals on Wheels. She is a member of the National Association of Health Service Executives, the South Carolina Association of Nurse Leaders, the Family Health Council, and the American College of Healthcare Executives, among others. Ms. Haines is also a graduate of The Riley Institute at Furman University’s Diversity Leaders Initiative.
