Greenville leaders create WorkplaceYP podcast

March 10, 2016

GREENVILLE, SC – Two of Greenville young professional leaders have teamed up for a national podcast aimed directly at the business world needs of their generation.

WorkplaceYP aims to share stories, insights and tribulations that young professionals face in the modern work world. Podcasts will focus heavily on the young professional experience with topics ranging from how to serve on boards to personal branding to body etiquette to managing work/life balance.

The podcast is the brainchild of Mike Pennington and John Boyanoski.

Boyanoski is the owner of Complete Public Relations, an award-winning media affairs company based out of South Carolina. A former print journalist, he also has written four books as well as serves as on numerous boards and commissions.

Pennington is the former co-owner of Rhino Concessions – one of South Carolina’s leading catering companies with more than 80 employees and $1 million in revenue. He also is active in numerous boards and commissions.

Both men are former chairs of PULSE, which is one of the Southeast’s largest young professional organizations and gives them a unique insight for their podcast.

“WorkplaceYP came about because we didn’t see a venue for young professionals in the podcast world,” Pennington said. “We really are trying to reach a group that has questions, but may not be able to get the answers they seek. We want to provide those answers.”

Boyanoski said new episodes will be created bi-weekly for now, but soon will be produced on a weekly basis.

“We believe there is an audience for YPs talking to other YPs,” he said.
