Greenville Symphony announces 2026-2027 Chamber Music Series
August 19, 2026The Greenville Symphony will bring its principal musicians into four intimate venues across Greenville for its 2026-2027 Chamber Music Series. Tickets for the series are now on sale at greenvillesymphony.org.
The two-program series features Principal Winds of the Greenville Symphony this fall and Principal Strings of the Greenville Symphony in the spring. Chamber performances return to Centre Stage and Hotel Hartness this season while expanding to two new venues, Poe Mill Music and Cascades Verdae.
Principal Winds of the Greenville Symphony opens the series September 15-16 with a musical journey across the Americas, drawing from Haitian folklore, American folk songs, Latin dance rhythms and contemporary chamber music. The program features works by Lina Mathon Blanchet, Alyssa Morris, William Grant Still and Paquito D’Rivera, highlighting the range and versatility of the ensemble.
Featured Greenville Symphony musicians include Caroline Ulrich, flute; Chelsea Russell, oboe; John Sadak, clarinet; Patrick Herring, bassoon; Anneka Zuehlke-King, horn; and Daniel Kirkpatrick, percussion. Performances will take place Tuesday, September 15 at 5:00 p.m. at Poe Mill Music and Wednesday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Cascades Verdae.
The series continues March 16-17 with Principal Strings of the Greenville Symphony, moving from Hungarian folk influences and Renaissance dances to contemporary reflections on home. The program brings together works by Zoltán Kodály, Ottorino Respighi, Arvo Pärt, Franz Schubert and Jessica Meyer.
Featured musicians include Jacqueline Tso, violin; Joanna Mulfinger, violin; Kathryn Day, viola; Seth Russell, cello; and Leonardo Lourenco Lopes, bass. Performances will take place Tuesday, March 16 at 5:00 p.m. at Centre Stage and Wednesday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Hotel Hartness.
“One of the special things about chamber music is how close audiences are to the musicians and to the music itself,” said Jessica Satava, Executive Director of the Greenville Symphony. “These performances give our principal musicians a chance to shine in a different way, and bringing them into distinctive spaces throughout Greenville is another way for us to deepen the connection between our musicians, our audiences and our community.”
