Greenville Symphony presents DreamWorks Animation’s How To Train Your Dragon in Concert
July 13, 2026Dragons, Vikings and the thrill of flight will come to Peace Concert Hall this fall as the Greenville Symphony Orchestra presents DreamWorks Animation’s How To Train Your Dragon in Concert on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The concert will feature the complete film shown in high definition on the big screen while the Greenville Symphony performs John Powell’s Academy Award-nominated score live to picture. The result is a cinematic concert experience that allows audiences to hear the full force of the orchestra behind one of modern animation’s most beloved adventures.
“Powell wrote this score as if the orchestra were a character in the film – present in every scene, carrying the story’s emotional weight,” says Lee Mills, Music Director of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. “You feel it in the soaring passages, in the quiet moments of friendship and in everything the images alone cannot show. Performing that live, in the same room as the audience, is extraordinary. I’m thrilled for Greenville to experience that.”
