Greenville Technical Charter High School is nationally recognized
May 10, 2018In its 2018 review, U. S. News and World Report recognizes Greenville Technical Charter High School (GTCHS) as one of its U. S. News Best High Schools. The Best High Schools rankings help to demonstrate the top-rated high schools across the country and how they work to serve and educate each student in their school, teaching them to utilize basic skills as well as becoming college and career ready. Assistant Principal Jeff Taylor explained, “I am most impressed by how our school is closing the achievement gap for traditionally under-performing student groups. State-wide this achievement gap is 25.2%. At GTCHS the gap is 2.5%.”
GTCHS is a middle college where 62% of students in grades 10-12 take college courses with a first-time success rate of 90%. While this exceeds many AP/IB college-ready results, they are not analyzed or taken into consideration for this award.
