Greenville Technical College board votes to freeze tuition again

The Greenville Technical College Area Commission has approved a tuition and fee freeze through Spring Semester 2021. This action and a previous freeze instituted in summer 2020 mean that costs will not increase as families deal with the effects of the pandemic.

With a commitment to holding costs steady and keeping quality high, board members hope students will stay the course and complete their degrees in order to be well prepared for the opportunities ahead. The board’s expectation is that Greenville Technical College graduates will be needed across the economy to aid with rebuilding as conditions begin to improve.

This action keeps the cost of 12 credit hours at $2,389 (or $1,069 with lottery tuition assistance for those who qualify) for a resident of Greenville County. An out-of-county resident would pay $2,593 (or $1,273 with lottery funds) for 12 credit hours.

“With the uncertainty of these times, families need to know that the college is here to support them in any way possible,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of the college. “The board’s action demonstrates a commitment to the success of our students and that of our community.”
