Greenville Technical College health programs donate PPE supplies to Bon Secours St. Francis Health System for Coronavirus effort

A PPE drive for Bon Secours St. Francis Health System at Greenville Technical College (GTC) and in the community resulted in 23 respirator facepieces, 800 caps, 4,100 gloves, 20 Fluidshield masks, 5,000 surgical masks, 600 coveralls, and 450 shoe covers. The drive was spearheaded by Wendy Walden, associate vice president for executive affairs at GTC, who also serves on the board of directors for the Bon Secours St. Francis Health System.

Through the college’s School of Health Sciences and Economic Development and Corporate Training division, GTC has trained many of the people now serving on the front lines, helping the community in the pandemic battle. Programs in nursing, respiratory care, emergency medical technology, and patient care technician are among the health care programs that provide graduates for Bon Secours St. Francis Health System and other providers.

“We are so happy to put these supplies in the hands of the professionals who are working tirelessly to assist COVID-19 patients,” said Walden. “I am proud to represent the many GTC employees who gave of their time and effort to make this donation.”
