Greenville Technical College offers free OB ultrasounds

Greenville Technical College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is offering free obstetric (OB) ultrasounds, providing a unique opportunity for expectant mothers between 22 and 30 weeks of gestation. The ultrasounds are conducted by students under the direct supervision of qualified instructors in the new state-of-the-art ultrasound suites in the Prisma Health Center for Health and Life Sciences building on Greenville Tech’s Barton Campus.

As part of their hands-on training, Diagnostic Medical Sonography students perform the ultrasound examinations, gaining essential clinical experience. The service includes live 4D scanning, with 3D picture keepsakes provided to participants. All exams are conducted strictly for educational purposes and require written approval from each participant’s primary OB physician.

“This service allows our sonography students to gain valuable, real-world experience while also providing expectant families with an opportunity to observe fetal development in a controlled and supervised environment,” said Ronda Nicholson, academic program director at Greenville Technical College.
