Greenville Technical College partners with the University Center of Greenville for College Opportunity Fair

February 25, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – The University Center of Greenville will offer an information session on academic programs and related careers on Tuesday, March 3 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the University Center wing at McAlister Square. The session provides students the opportunity to learn first-hand about the transfer options available in the Upstate, including programs in business, engineering and health. Many of Greenville Technical College’s associate degrees transfer to a bachelor’s and beyond through partnerships with these four-year colleges and universities.

Faculty members and advisors from the following colleges and universities will be on hand to speak one-on-one with those who wish to continue beyond an associate degree: Anderson University, Clemson University, Furman University, Greenville Technical College, South Carolina State University, University of South Carolina, and USC Upstate. Refreshments will be provided and attendees are eligible for free t-shirts and a chance to win an iPad Mini.

A recent study of Greenville-area residents conducted by the Riley Center for Education showed a strong desire for local access to higher education. The University Center of Greenville is responding by expanding program offerings, providing greater educational opportunities for those in the Upstate to pursue higher education, and strengthening the connection with Greenville Technical College, which provides an affordable option for the first two years required for many of these degrees.
