Greenville Triumph SC sets club attendance record at historic GE Vernova Park opener
June 8, 2026A sold-out crowd of more than 4,000— the largest in Greenville Triumph history — packs the club’s new permanent home on opening night
History was made at BridgeWay Station Wednesday night. More than 4,000 fans filled every seat and standing-room area of GE Vernova Park as Greenville Pro Soccer opened its new permanent home before the largest crowd ever to watch a Greenville Triumph match — a record set in the club’s eighth season and celebrated with a 1-0 Greenville Triumph victory over Forward Madison FC.
The milestone capped a multi-year effort by Greenville Pro Soccer, the City of Mauldin, the State of South Carolina, and Hughes Investments to build a world-class sports and entertainment venue at BridgeWay Station in Mauldin.
Construction on the stadium’s west side and additional fan amenities will continue through 2026.
“This moment represents years of hard work and belief from countless people who shared a vision for what professional soccer could become in the Upstate. GE Vernova Park is a permanent home for the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty — but more than that, it’s a gathering place for our community, where families can come together, create memories and experience the joy that sports can bring.”
— Wallace Cheves, Chairman, Greenville Pro Soccer
The celebration began well before kickoff with a Fan Fest presented by GE Vernova at BridgeWay Station, drawing thousands of supporters for live entertainment, family activities, food and beverage, and appearances by Triumph players and staff.
Fans explored activation areas throughout BridgeWay Station — including The Pitchside Social, the Kids Kick Zone and the Legacy of Champions photo experience — while DJ SHA kept the energy high ahead of kickoff. Inside the stadium, following the match, a fireworks show brought the night to a fitting close.
“From the beginning, our vision for BridgeWay Station was a destination where people could live, work, dine, shop and be entertained. The opening of GE Vernova Park is a defining moment for that vision. Thousands of people filled the streets, the plaza and the stadium tonight. That’s the power of community and of partnerships built on a shared belief in what this place could become.”
— Phil Hughes, President and CEO, Hughes Investments
GE Vernova Park is located within BridgeWay Station in Mauldin and serves as the permanent home of both the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty. The stadium features a FIFA-grade artificial turf playing surface, premium seating options, concessions operated by Levy Restaurants and one of the largest video boards in the Upstate.
The stadium currently features 4,006 fixed seats. When completed in 2027, the $29 million project will add seating and premium suites bringing gameday capacity to 6,300. Expanded locker room facilities, enhanced concessions and upgraded fan amenities will cement GE Vernova Park as a year-round destination for professional sports, concerts, festivals, youth events and community gatherings.
“GE Vernova Park is a transformational investment in the City of Mauldin. It will drive recreation, tourism and economic development for years to come. We’re proud to welcome fans and families from across the region to our vibrant community — and last night was just the beginning.”
— Terry Merritt, Mayor of Mauldin
“GE Vernova is proud to be part of a venue that brings this community together. The energy on display last night is exactly what sports can do — and we’re honored to be part of this milestone.”
— Jason Reagan, Executive Plant Manager, GE Vernova
Wednesday’s match also launched the Greenville Triumph’s Summer of Soccer campaign, a season-long celebration headlined by World Cup watch parties at BridgeWay Station and featuring special ticket packages and community events throughout the summer.
