Greenville Triumph seeking name suggestions for new women’s team

Think you’ve got a great idea for naming Greenville’s new women’s soccer team that begins play in the spring? Fans are encouraged to visit GreenvilleTriumph.com/WLeague to submit ideas for the club’s new identity along with an explanation for how the name perfectly embodies Greenville and the Upstate.
The team will compete in the newly formed USL W League launched to serve as a force for societal good by creating a national platform to increase opportunity, gender equity and career development.
Top choices will be put to a community vote this fall with two season tickets going to a lucky fan who submitted the favorite name. The team’s name, crest and colors will be announced before the end of the year.
“We’ve got a great fanbase that’s passionate about the sport and our men’s team,” said Doug Erwin, vice chairman and chief brand officer for the Triumph. “We’re excited about getting our fans engaged with the new team and playing a role in helping name the club. We can’t wait to hear what our fans come up with.”
The club on Tuesday also unveiled pricing for the women’s 2022 season and announced the beginning of season ticket sales. Tickets are available by visiting the Greenville Triumph website at greenvilletriumph.com.
