Greenville Women Giving shines the spotlight on affordable housing

November 12, 2020

Last month, a study revealed that throughout Greenville County there are 50,000 cost-burdened households paying more than 30 percent of their income toward housing, some of which are substandard. This represents 25 percent of all estimated households in the county, and is an important reason why Greenville City Council has identified Affordable Housing as one of its top 10 priorities.

On Tuesday, Nov. 17, Greenville Women Giving will host a free virtual education session spotlighting affordable housing issues in Greenville County. The session will feature leaders of the Greenville Housing Fund and Homes of Hope, two organizations that are fully engaged in developing and implementing plans to provide affordable housing in the Greenville community.
